Leia, a lovely friendly companion

==LEIA'S STORY AND PERSONALITY==

Leia arrived at our back door when we moved into a new flat. To us the flat was new, but to her it was very familiar. We didn't know her name, so we called her Toni. Toni didn't know us but she spent every minute we were outside hanging around, smooching legs, and trying to climb on us if we were sitting down.

Unfortunately, one of us is allergic to cats so she couldn't come inside. She continued to come back and sit outside the sliding door and call out when she saw us. We found she had a little area set up with bedding and assumed the previous tenants had informally adopted her. We found out from the landscaper that that was true - Toni had been around for years and had befriended the downstairs neighbors too.

We took Toni to the vet just in case she was actually a stray and might have some unseen health issues. They found a microchip, and got in touch with her owner. Toni's owner told us her name is Leia, and she ran away from home years ago because of another cat that lives in the house. Leia stayed at home that night, but she arrived back at our sliding door the next afternoon.

Now Leia needs someone to be her permanent family. She doesn't want to stay at her real home, and she can't stay at her chosen home. We love her but we can't let her inside and it's getting colder now. She is such a lovely girl that it seems a huge shame that she isn't a member of a household that can give her the same affection that she gives out. We would love for her to move in with you if you can manage her.

She's a very brave and friendly girl who knows what she wants.

==LEIA'S NEEDS AND DETAILS==

Leia will probably need to be the only cat in the house. We don't know how she gets along with dogs but she probably needs a house without dogs. We also don't know how she gets along with young kids but we're willing to try it out.

We don't know if she is house trained, but she will need a family who will be patient if she isn't because she will need to stay inside until she's used to being your family. She is likely to run away and we do not want her to get lost trying to get back to our place. She will need to stay inside until she knows your place is home and is where her food is. This might take a week, it might take longer, so we will be looking for a family who can give her that kind of patience.

She is 6 years old, desexed, microchipped and has had her shots.

She comes with bedding and bowls but we don't have a carrier for her.
